As I listen to the popular Katie Perry song " Hot n Cold", I wonder what sort of a predicament a bride would go through if such a thing were to actually happen, when the to be husband almost "falters at the altar" to say "I Do". You're hot then you're cold, you're yes then you're no, you're in then you're out, you're up then you're down... Well, as I sat thinking, isn't everyone like that....in different situations. I can think of so many examples.... the weather, at least in Dallas, has been so, if you're talking about being hot and then cold. your boss can be "you're yes and then you're no" if you ask for a raise or request leave for a vacation. In today's economy, in any organization, I guess, you can be -" in then you're out" and in case you happen to ask a stock broker, he will definitely tell you what being " you're up then you're down" is like. So why stigmatize the poor guy who gives his decision a second thought! (in case you watched the video on YouTube).
Hm mm, so much for my reflections here! As I was on my way to the gym in the morning and engaged in a conversation with the chatty shuttle driver, she excitedly narrated the story of a horror movie she was watching called "paranormal activity." She almost waved her hands in the air, and in a narrative tone went on - " then he suddenly heard a shriek and rushed down and saw footsteps coming in ...and they no see him more..." while I went on - " and then ?" after intervals which excited her even more..
Well! at least a horror movie is at least a better option these days, when wherever you go, whoever you speak to, they only happen to discuss college football. Looks like my university has managed to scramble in the top 10 list again or might pretty soon after quite a rough season. Boise state university is definitely a new discovery. But the west coast colleges don't often get as much attention as the east coast favorites. As a colleague was explaining, there isn't really a proper system in place to choose the favorite teams of a season. Its probably based on some voting system organized by newspapers, influenced by eminent sports reporters and personalities of course. And since, the most common newspapers read by the majority of the US are on the eastern side of Mississippi than on the west , the east coast colleges find themselves in a more favorable position than the west coast universities. I'm not a big follower of football though! I couldnt even tell what a touch down is. All I know is that they have these huge quarterbacks who run around with the ball. My colleagues try and explain the rules sometimes but then they're too complicated and I just listen. Somehow, I wonder whether this keeps happening to me or whether its true for everybody, even though I try to shut myself out from cricket and football, I end up learning all the rules and eventually end up learning more about it, because everybody around me keeps discussing about the same thing. I was telling my colleague the other day that I dont understand anything about cricket and then went on explaining about fours, sixes, spinning the ball etc etc and was amazed myself! These things probably just enter my mind subconsciously and stay there and Im not even aware. Last year, when I was working, my colleagues would discuss about cricket and football all the time and so I knew almost everything like how many runs sachin tendulkar scored and who quarrelled with whom even though I didnt bother to read the newspaper! its like an hourly update! Phew!
In any case, let me go back to work till something else pops up on my mind......
See ya'll!
Bye!
